The Constitution begins with We the People, reinforcing that ultimate authority rests with the people. That said, the Declaration of Independence affirms that government derives its just powers from the consent of the governed, it would be us , We The People.
If the government is acting outside its lawful authority, the people have not only a right but a duty to hold it accountable. What is happening is an audit by the rightful civilian authority. Like the ones who drafted the Constitution way back in the late 1700s which enumerated government powers. That document that we use to make sure they stay in their lane as far as the people goes. Elon, whether you like it or not, is one of the biggest private contractors for the DOD (with top secret clearance), he is a civilian and at the behest of Trump is allowed to perform this audit.
